For this project, I was inspired by the revamped 2000s fashion style. I wanted to play with the aesthetics of Y2K and merge it with Hollywood Glamour to create Carousel mag! The colours are fun and simple, but with the choice of accessories and pairings, it can still give a high-end feel. Playing with both cute and grunge looks was a detail I wanted to include as well to show the different sides a person in fashion can have. It helps to tell the story that staying to one style is not necessary; fashion is about exploring new things and wearing what you're comfortable with, not just about having a rigorous choice of clothing. Finally, the poses play with both "fun and flirty" and "Old Hollywood", creating the illusion that you can look bold, daring, and chic in simple clothing.

 This project allowed me to work on Adobe Photoshop skills alongside my Adobe Indesign skills.

Challenges

A few challenges that came up during this project were;

  1. Pinpointing my vision to be cohesive. It was a challenge to choose one theme and one vision for this project as many came across my mind. I had to spend a lot of time looking up inspiration and working on my mood board to find something cohesive.

  2. It was also my first time using InDesign, so at the start of the project, I was a bit intimidated. To overcome this, I had to practice using tools on the software as well as watch videos to help me get familiar with the space.
